What I have been needing for some time now is a good blow out to clear the cobwebs and shift this cabin fever. With a small break in the rain Ben, Simon and I decided to head to a new water. We knew the water was stuffed with carp but we had heard some very quiet whispers there were a few good perch in there. So after an hour or so in the car we arrived at what can only be described as an oversize muddy puddle. Visibility wasn't too bad so we setup quickly and began chucking some plastic.
Ever since I started fishing for predators there has been one fish I have been itching to catch. A fish I believed to be few and far between and restricted to just a handful of waters. There are a lot of mixed feelings about this fish, in the eyes of some it is vermin and in the eyes of others it is greatly revered. I am of course talking about zander.
