My day started at 4:30am but how could I do anything but wake up with a smile on my face, I’m off fishing. Before I could get too excited I still had to pick Ben up and then drive 3 hours to the mark.
The mark is a short stretch of river in Chippenham shown to us by Matt Jones. I was eager to fish this river after reading Matt’s blog here.
After winning the Major Craft Crostage Rockfish Model Solid Tip 0.5-5gr rod in the Cornish Lure Festival(thought I’d just get that one in quick), I was undecided whether or not to keep the rod. My initial thought was I already have an LRF rod why would I need another. Well after a lot of debate with myself I decided I would give the rod a try and see what I thought.
I was introduced to Light Rock Fishing early this year. I started with a finesse rod with a casting weight of 1.5-20gram. Not long after fishing with this I decided that this style of fishing was for me. I then made the decision to invest in a proper LRF rod. I had a budget of about £500 so started looking for a rod and reel.
