After a little inspiration from Karl Fox I decided to bite the bullet and make my own soft plastics. Karl pointed me in the direction of a UK supplier and I was off. Lure Factors were very helpful and very willing to offer advise. My initial order consisted of 1 litre of plastic 9 colours and 6 glitters. Karl gave me some basic instructions of how to use the plastic. All that was left was to sort some moulds. I manged to source some reasonably price moulds from the US, postage was high but still cheaper than any I found in the UK.
On Sunday Ben and I left Millbrook and headed for some wild fishing on Bodmin moor. Now the journey wasn’t without hiccups and two road closures meant that most of the morning was lost getting there. We stopped off at a supermarket for supplies before completing the last bit of the trip.
A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to buy a Nories Rock Fish Bottom 7′11″ from Matt Newcombe who is desperately after a boat. I dug deep, begged, borrowed and did all I could to raise the funds to get hold of what I’d been told to be an awesome piece of carbon.
