Before I start I'd just like to apologise for my last blog and assure you that there will be no more photos of me naked, well at least until the weather warms up anyway.
In all honesty with the weather conspiring against me I haven't been out much at all over the past two weeks. Thankfully I have had my camera to keep me entertained. From landscapes to product photos it has kept me busy but I can still feel the cabin fever setting in.
Thankfully I did manage a trip to Fowey last Saturday which has kept the cabin fever at bay for now. A short session with 5 species landed and four of those new for this year. As always my camera came with which has got me thinking. The amount of kit I now carry has doubled and as a result I'm now looking for the ultimate luggage for the fishing photographer.
Now I love my Spro sling bag and it holds more than I could need for a session on the rocks. Its design means it sits comfortable and everything is easy to get to, even with a rod in hand. I don't want to lose that convenience but what I do want to gain in safe luggage for my camera and suitable storage for my fishing bits and pieces.
Now currently I use a Tamrac camera bag draped over the opposite shoulder and although this is fairly comfortable but it can prevent me from swinging the Spro bag out the way without a bit of wriggling. The thing I do love about this setup is everything is to hand and even the camera can be got to quickly for those snaps of people playing fish etc.
This bag holds my camera, flash gun, spare lens as well as my spare memory cards and card reader. So really what I am after is a bag to combine the best of both. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them.
One option I have considered is a camera rucksack like the one below and bum bag style bag for bits I need to hand. The top of this bag will give me all the storage I need for fishing items as well as plenty of storage for my camera bits.
I probably should have said at the start of this post it was going to be a boring one. Hopefully I'll have a nice fishy blog for you by the weekend.
In the mean time if anyone has any suggestions on bags that could be the answer I am looking for please do get in touch, either by the contact me page or comment on this post. Cheers in advance.
