Ok since my last post my cabin fever has gone into over drive. Snappy moody, hot sweats, cold sweats and not a blotchy fish shaped rash. Ok so maybe no rash but man am I keen to get out. The current weather forecast looks pretty grim for the foreseeable future but with a small window of opportunity showing for Monday Ben and I were off no questions asked to catch our last fish of the year.
With the persistent rain over the last few weeks we knew the rivers would be out of the question. With the sea rough as rats, we decided the canal would be our only hope, our target, pike.
Here is my first video and I hope to do many more. I'll be sure to share them on here as and when. Make sure you change the settings to 1080p to get the best out of the video. Now bare with us a bit as we are only just starting to get to grips with the equipment.
So as you can see from the video only 3 pike caught, all around the 5lb bracket with the biggest just tipping the scales at 5lb 8oz. My two fell to a 3" Bait Breath BeTanCo curly tail in red teamed up with a SG spinner blade and a Gary Yamamoto 3.5" Swim-baits in white also with a SG spinner blade. As you can see from the video the water wasn't it's clearest and the spinner blades certainly helped.
