A quick report but with a risk of repeating what Matt said here. Saturday was an out and out laugh with some fishing thrown in.
Saturday morning saw Matt Newcombe, Luke Fox and myself taking a short and eventful drive to new venue we hadn’t fished before. The target was perch and pike and anticipation was high. As always I think we all had high hopes of fish within the first few casts but it wasn’t to be. In fact it proved to be hard work.
The hard work soon paid off with Matt taking the first fish, a nice little perch of about 12oz+, Luke soon followed with a small pike. I however was left fish-less for a while longer. In fact in the mean time Matt had a nice pike pushing 6-7lbs. Soon after I was rewarded with a small but very welcome pike. Still a nice little fight on the Graphiteleader Finezza.
My next fish was a little better in the 5lb bracket.
We worked a 3-4mile stretch and back again. So many laughs along the way. Although not a spanking days fishing as far as catches go, it’s a day I wont be forgetting for a while. Looking forward to the next one guys.
Special thanks to Luke for taking some stunning pictures throughout the day, including all the shots in this post and the video below.
